When Comfort Dies

Perceptions are interesting little things. They pop up and collect dust everywhere. Everyone has them, and also, everyone has a closet full they don’t know what to do with.

What’s even more disturbing is that we don’t get new ones. We’re often perfectly comfortable with the old dusty ones and the thought of getting new ones seems to leave us catatonic with fear and anxiety.

Listen, I’m preaching to me here. But I hope this lends some perspective. My ‘out loud’ efforts may stimulate some adventure into new and uncharted territory for you… And maybe even for me.

My point is, well, you were colour. And now, you’re fading because you’re holding onto niggly perceptions.

Let go and see what happens. Maybe the perceptions change. Maybe some stay the same. At best, you’re a better person. At worst, well, you dust off some perceptions and hopefully, your closet is less full.

Tedious work. But fulfilling nonetheless.

Love your people on purpose.
